If Google really starts displaying their AI answer on top of Google Ads, they will earn much less from the ads.
This is probably also the reason why they didn't implement it before Bing.

Now that the "have to" implement it, my guess is that they will move much more into becoming an affiliate themselves.

You know I thought it was a matter of days we get it here in the EU but we still haven't. I thought maybe it's Switzerland itself, but when I searched for supported countries, none of the EU countries came up, so there must be something delaying or stopping Google from releasing it in Europe (excluding the UK).

Released yesterday or day before. Tried it. $29 an article. $35 with tax added (I think that might be UK only).

It was OK. But still peppered with the usual over-the-top phrases. Maybe a 'best dog beds' one would do better.

A good human writer (that didn't go overboard with the daft/irrelevant/unnecessary phrases) would still beat it, but obviously not on price.

Not all queries will be assisted by AI. The queries that will not be, in turn, will be targeted by a lot more webmasters.

The generative experience is big enough to keep visitors away from the organic results. Add that to the ads space...

Ya, I have been testing it too. WTF?

It is early but it looks like Google is trying to do too many things at once. One thing that several SEO people have latched onto is that the top AI result "featured snippets" are taking peoples web pages and repeating them. It isn't always summarizing the best results but just taking them and not providing a link or credit from the quote.

If Google plagiarizes your work. What are you going to do about it?

one question that i have in mind, is the "source". You can see bing using it while google doesn't.

Now in our niche it would be difficult but with other more "white" areas, i find it hard how google can do it without running into multibillion $ lawsuit.

I don't understand how they and chatGPT where not by now. I mean they gathered that info from somewhere, maybe not in popular casinos example as that they can know themselves but which slot is what, that they got from affiliate sites.

I have 0 expertise in legal aspect but i would assume that some big companies, would eventually go after them for using their sources without giving credit.

Casinos and bookmakers have it easier than affiliates in this regard, they don't need SEO as much. At least that's how it seems to me.

This is what happens when you allow 1 single company to have monopoly and have what like 90%+ the search market share? If there were dozens of engines out there all with 4-5% search traffic share, we wouldn't even be talking about it.

Once again the whole world will be waiting on Europe to push its anti-competitive anti-monopoly measurements and start a snowball effect.

This SE used to consume so much of my time, once. Now, I don't give two rats about its core-updates etc., etc.
