i find it hard to believe to be honest. He has so many lookalikes it's probably one of them.. and we will see a video from him saying "in your face I'm still alive!"

They did a DNA test to confirm plus they have the body.

What is shocking is the fact that folks would deminish his death as not real. IMO if Obama sais that he is dead and buried at sea then I believe it.

I'm sure that he was aware that some would go that route and will produce evidence when he is ready.

He doesn't even deserve the publicity of his death. They should have filled his shoes with concrete and slowly lower him in hot lava. This is one person that truly got what he deserved. No doubt about it.

Couldn't believe it either when I heard the news on the radio this morning. Still seems unreal to me...

On the other hand I agree with Ocreditor & Robin. I guess Obama would have made absolutely sure before announcing the news.

Somehow, they've been hunting him for so long it's hard to believe it's finally over. That's a real blow to those fanatics of Al Quaeda.

I'm glad they finally got him but what right did he have to be buried per his religious beliefs.....within 24hrs? How many Americans never got a proper burial because they were never found?

I guess the US wanted to show that they respect anyone's religious beliefs, even that of a murdering terrorist.

Technically though, he was not totally burried as per his religious beliefs. Forget the 24 hours span. He was burried at sea they say. So it means that he was dumped there in some sort of casket or shroud probably. Now this does not go according to Islamic law. A proper burial means the body to be enshrouded and placed in the earth. Then boards are placed diagonally in the hole and these are covered by straw mats. So regardless of how they sunk the body, it is definitely not according to his religious beliefs.

This guy doesn't even deserve the title of "terrorist", he was just a murdering bastard, like any other sociopath. Just another crook running a "long con".

Most of these so-called "terrorists" are just guys with "issues" who want to inflict punishment on the world to sooth the pain of their own shortcomings. They fantasize about inflicting pain, and get some sort of "goodie" feeling from it, so they move through the same cycle of violence that other serial killers go through. They like killing, and derive pleasure from it. Making their twisted ideology socially acceptable, is part of the "long con". Most go along b/c they have similar issues, and can perpetrate their needs under the guise of the "terrorism" for a just cause.

Notice that he promised these suicide bombers they would be rewarded in heaven with all the virgins, just for them. What guy in his right mind wants a bunch of virgins??? If he were dealing with stable individuals, wouldn't he have promised them a woman who love them and wanted their attentions, and desred their lovemaking? Clearly, like any good fanatic, he knew his audience, and how best to gain their loyalty. A bunch of unstable young men, who are easily led, and have no real experience of the world. Notice that the suicide bombers are all young men, not the older experienced men, who knew better!

Bin Laden didn't set out to be a martyr, he wasn't trying to "lead by example", rather he hid out as long as possible, and tried to place himself in the most secure location he could find, less that a mile from Pakistan's version of "West Point", in a comfortable house, with young women available to him for his pleasure. He wasn't doing w/o sex, that's for sure.

Bin Laden also knew not to use electronic communication devices, so he clearly didn't want to be caught.

Just another scumbag, with money, who formed a cult of violence and perversion, that he managed to make socially-acceptable to those not sophisticated enough to see beyond the surface to the monster underneath.
