I really have no idea who the baggies are. Truly.

Offside rule - isn't it when the player is closer to the goal than both the ball and the opposition? I'm sure I'm completely wrong, but I actually don't care for the finer details. I leave that up to the refs

Now ask me any question about softball or baseball and I can tell you the answer

as for not knowing who spurs are, i fully understand

It is The Spurs not the spurs and therein lies the problem, a question of education

Stay around and we will teach you the finer details and in time you will become our very own convert
    Hahahahahah

I will NEVER convert. Me and my dad are Arsenal supporters together.

The Spurs... sorry. Must have been an Arsenal fan who setup your hosting. Nice work to them. Muhwhahahhah

BTW Chalkie - I'm confiscating all your toys for that comment

Thinking thaat you should leave the offside rule to the ref!

Why is softball called softball when the damn thing is hard? Is it cos it is played by a load of softies?

Was I really that far off with the offside rule?

    Please explain!

Softball.. hmm.. I think it's called softball because when they first created the sport I don't think they expected anyone to be able to pitch the ball at over 100kms. Thats my take anyhow.

And BTW we aren't softies. I played softball for almost 15 years, 1st grade, and played with the girls in the Olympic side. I ended up having to retire because I totally fkd my knee in a slide into third base which won us the game and the season. Couldn't walk properly for over a month, had to wear tracksuit pants everywhere (including to the office) and couldn't drive my car for well over a week until the tissue inside my knee and the open wound healed a little.

Not soft if you ask me!

If it wasn't for that I'd still be playing

    I <3 Softball.

Not the trackies I was wearing.. They were about 3 sizes too large for me. Not attractive at all.. You must remember that I'm not like other girls - I'm not very girly at all actually.. trackies are definitely one of the things I pride in buying from the men's department

I got hit by a softball going about 95km/h right in the side of the leg by a pitcher who played in the NSW team and was pitching one of her slow balls..

I had a bruise the size of a softball on my knee and part of my thigh for a month. You have no idea how much that hurts. Imagine if it was one of her fast balls.. jesus..

After that whenever I batted against her I would always stand at the back and to the edge of the box. I figured if she pitched it close to me again at least if I was at the back of the box the catcher would miss it if I did and I might get some people running through the bases. Scary stuff.

Sounds scary though i suspect you would make a good case for netball to go down as an extreme sport

You were sort of close but miles off too!

Nowadays tbh the offside rule is very undefinable, or at least it seems to be when refs are involved.

Leaving aside the new added extras it is basically:

if the ball is passed to a player who is closer to the touchline than any player from the opposing team other than the keeper he is deemed to be offside unless it is paased by one of his own players whom is closer to the touch line.

there are silly additions over the years that come and go, however, that is a generalisation.
