I remember 45's! You could buy one for less than a dollar. My first singles were probably the Beatles and/or Tommy James. 33 rpm LP's were too expensive on my allowance.

Tommy James is still pretty good live.

I remember one day in 1978, i was a sophmore in high school, and me a my girls would go to the "party park" in the morning before school and get stoned, but one day, my friend brought a bottle of brandy to go with that doobie, and we sat there and drank the bottle and smoked the doobie and went to school..lol...

Though I'm from GenX, I think I remember hearing and liking this song when my mom used to play it some in our living room stereo. The music is sweet and quite catchy too.

Heres as good a place as any I guess.

Steve I apologize for some of my comments in the past although I do feel there is no need for the sarcasm when editing your posts or when referring to South African contacts as you have been doing.

When I was just round two I my folks say I would go round "singing" Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. That was in 63 and they bought the album of Ring of Fire. I have that very album to this day.

here's the song for you that don't know it.

    Its all good mate,

I was more concerned with Heather and how she felt. Shes a friend of mine and comments to her were between her and I and were not meant to be infiltrated by that type of post.

With regards to the edit stuff.. simply a joke dude - based on your original questioning of my credibility..

No worries mate i still value your friendship if you still care to have one.

If the edits upset you that bad I apologies as well!!

Gawd pat. I remember some friends rolling it up (I think it took an ounce). It was so big and difficult to do it ended up coming out looking like a giant Y. Of course we were all laughing hysterically like a bunch of hyenas.

I remember getting caught smoking dope in a car during middle of class wintertime. somebody was stuck and principal was trying to get them out and saw our car and came over and said ... into the window we'd rolled down about 2 inches which smoke was flying out ... if we helped push the car out and went to class he'd let us go.

[pretty big deal back then getting caught smoking dope]

anyway reason we walked was I paid off the principal once in the fall and once in the spring with zoysia grass (which was really expensive and all the rage back then) and everybody else in my class when they got busted skipping ... had to report to the VP. I reported to the principal. he still punished me but I got one hour after school for skipping a whole day. most got an hour for every hour skipped.

He even kept prom glasses and that crap for me because we got lucky and won the drawing lottery they had for the who concert which happpened to be on the same night. the prom glasses and seems like there was something else too ... were really cool. I would never had them for later (like now when I'm really old) if not for good ol' Doc (principal).

I went to the concert so sick its a wonder I didn't die. they carried me in.. carried me out and I smoked one joint right when who came on ... and that was it ...man I was a sick puppy.

anybody else .... I'd prob have stayed home but the tickets were impossible to get and we had all kinds of goodies ... which I didn't get to partake.

    -----------

The dead! AM no wonder we hit it off.

ANybody ever been to a dead concert appreciates this and I kinda think if you haven't been ... then you can't. and i don't mean to sound ... stuffy or whatever ... its just you have to experience it.

this won't do it justice but it starts out with the crowd on the floor systemactically piling the chairs up into like 3 or 4 giants mountains of chairs.

to make room for the DANCING!

I am getting chills talking about it.

I saw them twice. I totally understand why there were dead heads and how they could actually find themselves having went from the average joe going to a concert to a dead head that traveled from concert to the next one.

Now thats one group i do not ever remember listening to, so i can 't even say if i like them or not, but the Grateful Dead definitely made an impact on Rock and Roll and thats fine with me. I don't know why i never listened to them back in the day, i think they may have been to mellow for me?

I wanted to rock and roll all night and party everyday! lol

Steve, what is the name of that stuff you said was a rage back in our time? I never freakin heard of it??? Was it green? it was sinsimillion here, [spelled wrong i am sure]. the green and red weed with the nice buds and no seeds!

Mojo, when i read that it took an ounce to roll that joint with, i laughed my ass off, cause you are right!!!!!...crazy man! lolllll

When i first started to roll, my joints looked pregnant! lol...then i became a pro, and thats all she wrote.
