Question Gaming Alerts of Dragons Den?

A couple of years ago Theo Phaphitis of the Dragons Den was shown to invest a serious amount of money into the Gaming Alerts Affililate site. Now checking the URL it has closed down.

Anyone know what (presumably) went wrong?

Well spending that sort of money, what was it again £250k basically for free bets website leaves a lot to be desired.

Was always a shaky business model, they would have needed to hit the top 3 on google for all the best search terms and even with tHAT sort of money was always going to be unlikely.

I'm sure those guys plonk down a ton of money on things that don't work a lot of the time. Key is that they do it enough that they make back their losses and then some when something works.

    I see it here....

    http://gamingalerts.co.uk/

I think the money was partially if not mostely used to build up their Media and SEO company, Jack Media. I may be wrong here but that sum of money for something that didnt change that much it must have gone somewhere?

I still have Emmie on MSN, she was the girl in the pitch on Dragons Den.

You got her on MSN, poor girl

I should talk with her sometime about setting up one of them after care groups, in fact anyone with Martyn on MSN or Skype is welcome to join.

Yeah - I was a bit shocked when they walked away with that kind of money!

Goes to show how undervalued and understated affiliate marketing is, if anything.

Ed and Emmie also set up a company called GlobalDigitalMarkets, with not-too-small a team behind them. Likelihood some Ryman money ended up here, although I'm purely speculating!

Theo decided that he wanted to work more closely with the Gaming Alerts team and decided that he wanted to move the entire company into his own offices.

He then decided that he wanted them to do the SEO and spend most of their time working on his Ryman brand and not developing Gaming Alerts.

This obviously wasnt ideal for Gaming Alerts, so eventually they agreed to go their separate ways. I believe that the money was given back and the Jack Media guys (who were also Gaming Alerts), decided to focus on Jack.
