Hello Kitty?

Hey guys

So a few people here know I'm a musician from way back.. played piano since i was 8, and sung/played guitar since i was about 13/14... write my own songs yadda yadda...

Music is something I am absolutely passionate about, like some people are passionate about horses, or writing poetry, or organic food LOL

I just walked past a music shop in Bondi after grabbing my lunch, and there is a microphone in the window that I drool over every single time I walk past. Its an old jazz style mic and I would hand over a limb for it, right after I've handed over a limb for a grand piano. Cost is around $1000, so obviously gonna take me a little time to get...

HOWEVER

Mic aside... The other window had some guitars... and I thought my eyes deceived me the first time, but I had to walk backwards and look again.... SOMEONE has totally produced some blasphemous guitars... Electric and acoustic guitars with the Hello Kitty print on them... WTF?!?!?!

I would like to cry over this. It broke my heart more than any man could. I have nothing against people who love Hello Kitty, but it doesn't belong on a frickin guitar!

I wonder if anyone will notice if I burn the place to the ground (right after saving my precious microphone)...

TBH I can't remember the brand but I'll walk past there in the next couple of days on my way to get lunch and take a pic of it

I totally agree, I too have been a musician for many years. I have been playing guitar
since I was 6, and I have also been in several bands (non of them that successful to be honest) over the last five years, and every time I go past my local guitar shop, I see guitars who's looks have been ruined by silly designs and faces printed all over them.
It SHOULD NOT Be done, even if it is a loved character such as "Hello Kitty".

I cant stand Hello Kitty on a good day, let alone smacked all over a beautiful instrument.

So I walked past the other day to see that my microphone had been removed - I almost cried..

I had actually gotten my camera out to take a pic of both mic and guitars.. to my surprise, not only was the mic missing, but so were the guitars..

My immediate thought was "they know im going to burn the building down"

Then I walked past again the following day and the guitars were back. My precious mic nowhere to be seen though

Never underestimate the ability of Hello Kitty to defile. We're seeing it more and more in Australia, but go to Japan, and ... WOW, it's just everywhere.

Toilets, salt shakers, stickers on all sorts of things, shoes, clothes, hair dryers, car seat covers. You name it, there's a Hello Kitty version of it.

My wife's 55 year old mother had Hello Kitty stuff, something I just couldn't wrap my head around.

Just be thankful it's not on a Shure SM7 or SM58 or something truly awesome like a Korg Oasys

It really is amazing how a cat without a mouth could be so popular!

I once dated a girl that was prefectly fine. Oh well I thought so until she started getting Hello Kitty accessories for my car. We're talking decal stickers, headrests, seatbelt covers etc.

I started calling her Hello Kitty from then on.
