I'm so sorry to hear this news. It is a complete shock that this industry has lost three of it's best men so close together. I didn't know the Spearmaster but from what I have heard, he was a remarkable man and I know he will be missed by all who knew him. RIP Mr. Loh

Even though he gave me a 7 day vacation at CM I always had mad respect for him and will miss him. RIP Ted!

Though I did not know Ted on a personal level, I had the fortunate pleasure of meeting him in person last year.

My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.

I will SOOOO miss popping in on Ted whenever he was just logging in.

I don't use messenger or that type of thing much, mostly because being adhd I am bad enough when writing, about jumping ahead a paragraph or two, because that's where I'm at in my head.

Talking with me when I don't have opportunity to catch myself and go back and type in what I left out .. just doesn't work near as well. So anyway, I hardly ever use the instant stuff.

But for some reason escapes me now, Ted and I had hooked up on there ... way back when, and ever after that, I would get a notice whenever he logged on.

Being me, (and the fact I had something to remind me to think about him) ... I could seldom see him cross my path without saying hello. That's just the polite thing to do and lucky for me, Ted was always very accommodating and would take the time to share a little water cooler gossips with me.

Now keep in mind how you are when you first log on. You've got things to do, stuff you're wanting to get out of the way. But he was never in a hurry, and always seemed as happy to see me as I was him.

He was someone I could agree to disagree with, and still be the best of friends and in my belief, both parties were very sincere in that respect.

There are damn few people in this world that every time you see them, it makes you smile.

    Ted was that to me.

    I shall miss you sir.

Truly a tragic loss for all of us. I had a terrific amount of respect for Spearmaster. I believe we all did.

Condolences to the CM staff for the loss of their dear close friend and to the family.

    Blessings.

You got that right Chris! We had such a wonderful time at that event and I'm so glad to have gotten to meet Ted and other well respected industry peers.

To be honest (for me) that was the last conference that was basically drama free, before stuff started to get a bit wacky in the industry, and things were still going well for alot of us. It's so sad that with regulation finally upon us that we have lost three guys that definately deserved to be apart of it and would have offered valuable input.

On a lighter note, I reckon there is some kind of affiliate conference up there somewhere that we don't know about. With Alan, the Prof and now Ted in attendance, that will be one hell of a conference! have a good one fella's.
Martyn that has got to be the case! Amoung other things they may be up there preparing the way in affiliate heaven.

I first 'met' Ted in 2003 when I joined got2bet and in early 2004 he helped me sort out a problem with a cash out with a Playtech casino .During that inter change of emails he started some chitchat with me asking about life in general in Canada , my family ,work etc .

In 2006 I had a very serious issue with my brother who had a gambling problem and I was torn because of my work and dealing with the issues within my family. It was a very private and painful time for me and Ted Loh was the one man who listened and advised me on the situation , my brother not only lost him home and all his own money ,he compromised myself and cost my parents over $40,000.I owe Ted so much and he was a true gentleman ,he only added me to facebook about two weeks ago and I had no idea what he was going through

I'm not sure what to write. I just feel like sighing. It getting to the point where I'm scared to login to my regular forums - Captain, Prof and now Spear. Three big, BIG names who many of us have known in various ways for many, many years.

I hadn't spoken much to Spearmaster (that's the name I'll always remember him with - such a cool name) in recent years. Like many people here, I didn't always agree with him but I always respected him.

    RIP, Spear.

Spear and I never met in person, but I've "known" Ted since about 2001. During that time we've gone a few rounds, but I've always respected his integrity, although I may have "called him"on some things from time to time.

Ted will be sorely missed..in fact, I'd missed him on the boards recently, and wondered what he was up to. I can't say enough how sad I am to hear about his passing.

My sincere condolences to Ted's family and close friends.

It was both shock and realization to have heard about Ted's death.

Since he was diagnosed, I was always on his butt when he was on skype. My last conversation with him was a month ago:

[8/20/2010 3:49:16 AM] how are u holding up?
[8/20/2010 3:50:18 AM] tedloh: so far so good but an important treatment coming up on the 1st
[8/20/2010 3:56:15 AM] .Marc Lesnick: Good
[8/20/2010 3:56:22 AM] .Marc Lesnick: Let me know what you need
[8/20/2010 3:57:03 AM] tedloh: thanks appreciate it
I heard otherwise and knew his health was in decline. I really wanted to see him beat this. Over the months, I suggested he go to other doctors, 'turn up the volume' on treatment, etc.

He affected alot of us in the business....
He partied with the old crowd (and the new).
    He knew his stuff.
    He cared about you.
    He listened to you...
His opinion (usually right, although sometimes debateable ) was there....and HONEST, which meant alot.

When he talked, you heard him. Everyone would listen.

When he laughed, you laughed with him.

For those of you that didn't know, Ted was an expert in his early years of Spear throwing. Thus, his screen name "Spearmaster." I asked him that years ago at one of my events. We often ate, laughed and had a great time.

He was born in New Jersey and grew up in California. He lived for eons in Bangkok Thailand. He owned Got2Bet.com which he eventually sold. He consulted for years for Playtech.

He was REALLY a good friend to me. Trusting, interested and .....there for you when you needed him.

One memory I have is going with him to a heavy metal concert in Florida one night. It was a 90 minute drive and a fun concert. It was my treat to him, and we had a great time.

According to his daughter, he will be cremated 11:30 AM Bangkok time September 23, 2010.

    RIP

    My condolences to the family.

Like many others, I always felt Ted was fun to be around although I only met him in person a few times and he certainly was a joy to get into discussions with on the forums.

We didn't always agree on a topic, but he always was sincerely interested in hearing the thoughts and opinions of others.

I spoke with Ted only a week or two ago. He was in his typical ebullient mood, full of optimism and enthusiasm. I had no idea he was ill. His untimely death is a great shock to me.

Ted was one of the people in the idustry I knew could be trusted. He stands out through his integrity. When I operated Gambling.com I did many deals with Ted. It was always a pleasure dealing with him.

He always wore an ear to ear smile. I can't remember him without it.

My condolences to all Ted's family.

Got2Bet must have been one of the first sites I looked at when I first started poking around this industry. I never met Ted although I always made a point to read any time he posted something. He always struck me as fair and I think everyone would agree that you always knew where he stood on things.

My thoughts are with his family and friends.
