Update on my niece Michelle

My niece Michelle, as some of you remember had a heart pump implated earlier in the summer. This was done to extend the life of her own failing heart.

At this time, Michelle is on the way to the hospital in Houston, TX because a heart has become available. This, of course, also means that another family is in mourning for their loved one, but is generous enough to offer the gift of life to someone else.

Please send your good thoughts and prayers for Michelle, and for the family who has lost their own loved one.

MIchelle is out of surgery and doing well. They will not close until tomorrow, to make sure all is going as it should. She is in ICU now.

Update: Mon, Nov.22

Michelle is doing very well. They sat her up briefly, and will be reducing her meds, so they can get her moving. Waking up has to be brutal, but...

I always love the Thanksgiving holiday, but this year we especially are thankful for our blessings.
