We need your prayers and good thoughts

Hi Everyone,

My niece, Michelle is having a surgery tomorrow (Monday) to implant an artificial heart. She has been on the transplant list for about 5 years now, and finally, they can't wait any longer.

I don't know the relative outcomes for artificial vs human heart transplants but I am just grateful that this technology is now available. Michelle has met several people who have had the procedure and they are doing very well.

The best thing about using this device is that no one has to suffer a misfortune for Michelle to survive, which is something we are all thankful for.

Please Pray for MIchelle, or send her your good thoughts, for the best possible outcome tomorrow.

You are correct about the artificial hearts working just as well if not better than a real heart, my father inlaw has "some" artificial pieces added to his failing heart many years ago and he is still kicking!

Please keep the faith and keep us informed so we may pray as a community for anything she needs.

Marie and I prayed for Michelle and I added her to our church prayer list so about 100 of our neighbors will include her in their prayers.

My brother in law had same surgery 2 years ago when he was 54 years old.It is amazing the improvement in his overall health now.It is very frightening for the family to go through but these surgeons do so many and have very high success rate.IMO they would not do the surgery unless they were sure of a success.We will keep her in our prayers too.

MIchelle is out of surgery and doing well. She will be moved to icu in about an hour. We're taking things a day, a minute, one second at a time now.

To think they can cut meds will be such a relief!!

To update:

Michelle is in her room now. They are keeping her sedated for another day, to prevent movement at this point.

I don't want to think about what she'll feel when they wake her, but we're all looking forward to that.
