I'm glad to hear the surgery went well! All my thoughts and prayers will go to Michelle for the next days.
MIchelle is awake and asking for her phone and her puzzle book!
She will be in icu for another few days, but things are going so well.
Thank you all for the love.

That is fantastic news, congratulations, this new technology today is mind blowing.
Everyone knows the most important part of an campaign is not the investment, it is the ROI.
Hi,
Thanks for asking. MIchelle is in her own room now. She's up and has taken a shower, walked some, and is getting stronger day by day.
They've removed her feeding tube and will slowly get her back on solids.
She will have to take meds of course, but compared to what she had to take before, it's a no brainer. She will have to go online to recharge the battery, if you can believe that. Thank God for smart people who come up with this stuff.
Incidentally, for anyone interested, Wed. on the Today Show, they will have a story on a woman who has the exact same procedure and device that Michelle has. I'll be watching to see what she has to say, myself.

Hi Liz,
I keep forgetting to ask how Michelle is coming along. It's been a while since we have heard. She remains in my prayers (and the only time I think to post for an update)
Hope she is coming along great and well on the mend.

Thank you for asking. Michelle is doing well, although, as you can imagine, she is ona strict regimen of meds and monitoring. We actually went to Houston recently to see her, and she was able to go out and about.
She has to carry extra batteries for the device where ever she goes, but the device itself works fine. It does the job it is meant to do.
Hopefully, others who have loved ones who go through something similar in the future will take encouragement knowing that there are good people working to help and save lives that otherwise would have to choice.
This condition (cardiomyopathy) is rampant in my family. My mother, grandmother, four brothers and 2 sisters all died with this illness. So it means everything to us that Michelle is the first in our family to survive, and we are so thankful.

Good news then! It's a shame they cant come up with a longer lasting battery, I guess they last a long time but since it is a critical device I don't think I would go around the corner with out spares. Thanks for the update. Michelle will remain in prayers.
