I recently came across socialoomph (Dot com), I've not used every feature yet but it seems really good. You can schedule tweets to go out at certain times which I find is a great feature.

on a paid version look at tweetadder it has some cool features

Been using <cite>tweethopper.com</cite> to populate my other twitter account with relevant and useful updates coming from an RSS feed source. You can place your own RSS feed to auto tweet your most recent site or blog update.

I have looked at these before, but after spending time lately a bit more trying to get a better understanding on the "twitter community" I am wondering how effective these things are. Do you use this in conjunction with regular manual tweets, or are you just using this to automatically tweet any articles you write? Do you think this attracts new followers or is this more just for your existing client base?

I've been using an app called AutoTweeterPro for some time. It's actually a small and very easy to use software, which tweets from my computer. I am using unlimited trial version, which is as good as free. Hope you will find this tip useful. bit.ly/autotweeterPro1

Hootsuite is awesome, you can "run" and setup your tweets across multiple accounts, it also has a URL shortener which you can use to track clicks.

Yeah, although as of right now I haven't personally bothered with the analytics. But I have used it for both twitter and facebook, and have being very impressed

CoTweet is a good free software solution - plsu you can run several different accounts from it. I like the ability to time tweets for the future.

I'm using a php script to autotweet [no need for oAuth, and no need for 3rd party tools and data integration headaches]

here's one such script..

useful use cases:
- tweeting when a new forum post created
- tweeting when new blog posted / new page is automatically created
- tweeting @ new registrations on your site and encouraging them to follow you..

If like me you have sites with hundreds of new pages / registrations daily, automation of these things is essential in the name of scalability.

I also use twitterfeed, posts in facebook as well. Once set up you forget about it!
