EU says half of normal flights to run Monday
Figures - mine was 20 minutes ago.
I'm still here too...if I am unable to book my flight home in the next 24 hours, I'm headed to London on a bus Tues night with Simmo!
In the meantime, I've had a blast at CAC and here are some pics, articles, and DAF Awards from the event if interested!

Well they said the volcano erupted again this morning our time, so looks like you all might be stuck there a little longer...

Hi All
Still stuck here.
Flights have resumed from to Israel but getting on the planes is a different story.
The other guys are the on the plane for tonight but KLM can't find me on the system!
Who's still here?
Nightmare Mark... stuck in Amsterdam all by yourself! We made it out on Sunday. Good luck
Just got last minute flight back home.
Need to be at the airport in 5 mins. Yay!
JTodd escaped from Europe and has landed in L.A.

That is great news! I'm sure that he and his family is happy about that!
I hear folks are still trying to figure out a way to get home as Heathrow is still not allowing flights last time I heard.
I was able to get Euro Star tickets sitting at Sbarros in Brussels (2.5 hrs and 37.50 euros) from Amsterdam.
There were 100's of people in line waiting and I got one of 10 tickets left.
I tried to pick them up via the ticket machine and it said I had to pick them up from the desk (UGH!!) - so I changed to the 'print at home' option. Then I talked an optometrist into printing out the pdf for me and after walking back by, everyone seemed to be the same ppl that were in line when I was booking mine on the site.
So not too bad;
30 min walk to Amsterdam Train station from the Krasnapolsky
2hr 50 minute train to Brussels
2 hr eurostar trip to London
2hr 30 minute train to Leeds
Of course I left at 5am am got to leeds at 7pm.
Of course Leeds is a 55 minute flight from Shipol but I'm gratetful to be home - My new mattress came while I was gone and it was heaven to crash on it last night.

There are plenty of folks that are still stuck in Amsterdam.
I had a flight out today, but it was cancelled. The soonest I could reschedule is for next Monday, so I'm now here through Queens Day this weekend.
Steven has a flight scheduled out tomorrow, and Angela has a flight scheduled out on Friday.
We moved out of the Kras because it was getting way too expensive, not that anyplace I would want to stay is that inexpensive here right now.
A believe Debbee is also still in Europe and I am awaiting a response from her to my sms to find out if she knows more about when she will be able to get back to the states.
I saw Bodog Becky yesterday, and she did not have any idea when she was going to get a flight back to the states.
Looks like CAC 2010 is going to break my record for the longest time away from home ever for a conference.

I heard that over 8 million passengers are stuck and it could get worse.

REYKJAVIK, Iceland – For all the worldwide chaos that Iceland's volcano has already created, it may just be the opening act.
Scientists fear tremors at the Eyjafjallajokull (ay-yah-FYAH-lah-yer-kuhl) volcano could trigger an even more dangerous eruption at the nearby Katla volcano — creating a worst-case scenario for the airline industry and travelers around the globe.
A Katla eruption would be 10 times stronger and shoot higher and larger plumes of ash into the air than its smaller neighbor, which has already brought European air travel to a standstill for five days and promises severe travel delays for days more.
Glad to hear that at least some people have managed to get home.
I'm back in the office today.
Trying to catch up everything.
Seems like US people have been most badly affected (at least Todd got out).
Sorry for those still stuck, but it's really good to be back!
We have been very lucky to visit Malta a few times,I tell Anneli (ex kharmapartners) I am moving to live beside her and her horse hahaha.
I need to go back soon to get some new glass pieces , It's my husband's fault he didn't let me get all the pieces I wanted on our last trip lol
How did you all enjoy CAC? We have heard all about the travel problems but lets get back to the event. You all deserve some award for endurance .Glad the bank roll is holding up for you guys stuck there !
Not many people there at all, but the few talks I attended gave me some ideas. Not a party in sight so the Euro Pub became the Hub as a result. Being small it was very social and turned out to be a good chance to meet some new faces. I think the travel problems actually helped in bringing people together too oddly.
I would imagine that the conference probably wasn't so good from the operators pov as there weren't a great many affs there. It definitely didn't have the buzz of previous conferences - but like anything in life it's what you make of it I guess. Loved every minute![]()
