You couldn't make this up. Our friend Mr. Bailey is now blaming the GRA, the regulator:

I've been discussing this with Aaron, and this whole process has been very disappointing. I'm considering knocking the GRA down to the level of Malta and Curacao in the CM rating system.

So: BetFred, which he recommends as an excellent casino, cheated its players. The GRA is not exactly emerging as anything like on the ball, but they are only the regulator. They are not the casino, they didn't cheat anyone. Bailey, and the BetFred AFFILIATE MANAGER who answers for the cheating casino, are angry that a body that is not guilty of any wrongdoing other than being useless (regulator standard) is at fault for not issuing findings, and as such Bailey wants to rogue them. Remember, the body that didn't actually do anything wrong. But he's quite happy to go on recommending the casino that did the cheating. And Aaron is also cross. At the regulator. Apparently he is also not cross at his casino that cheated.

This is like harbouring a criminal, supporting him and lauding him as excellent, but blaming the police for not finding him.

Can anyone credit the topsy turvy world this man lives in? I truly could not believe that when I read it: blame the regulator for doing nothing exactly unregulatorish, but don't blame the casino for cheating. Rather, recommend them as excellent.

Of course, Bailey makes no money out of the GRA. He makes money with BetFred. Therein obviously enough lies the answer, but this is beyond a charade at this point.

Really, it's all the GRA's fault. Not BeFred. Not GTech / Spielo.

    Honestly, I give up.

The response from GRA has now been received. I'm sure after reading, this thread will continue to grow.

So basically, a person decided to rob a bank. Whilst robbing the bank, he discovers that employees of the bank are robbing their customers.

The original robber leaves and reports the internal theft to the Authorities. He leaves out the fact that he discovered the theft whilst cleaning the bank out himself.

The Authorities conduct a "thorough" investigation and decide that they need to focus on the original robber, as he had no real business being in the bank in the first place. The rest is "move along, nothing to see here" - too bad, so sad for the bank customers.

Just looking around all the forums discussing this and saw an interesting link at Wizard of Vegas.

Apparently this is not the first rodeo for the CM gra rep Brear (who authored the statement) and Betfred:

Straight win for Curley, as gaming row ends in payout and silence

The row over bets placed with Betfred (Petfre) placed Phil Brear, Gibraltar’s Gambling Commissioner, at the centre of a legal storm with international implications...
The players sued, and got paid according to the article that was just posted today.

That said, and I reply to my own post lol, let's not lose sight.

It's so easy to blame the GRA and the bad man there and focus on that. Isn't it?

However, it's not about the GRA. It's about Betfred and Finsoft/Spielo. Mostly Betfred since they are the POS to the player and they are the ones that profited and will not make it right with players.

It's ironic that the GRA rep complains of 'dirty hands' which is a legal term, in light of the articles I posted a link to above. As a result of Mr Brear’s intervention Betfred held back on paying out £823,000... And accusations of 'agendas' which is disturbingly familiar as a common word used consistently by CM and staff. This appears to me, IMO, to be a diversion to take the focus off of Betfred.

It's clear. The manipulators of this disaster would like everyone to focus on the terrible GRA man and forget all about Betfred's part. The reason is that no one wants to take them down as a sponsor.

We have and are currently being played.

    Question is, will it work?

Quite right. The GRA (GGC) is clearly compromised and inefficient, but they are not at fault in the first instance.

It's amusing how this is being obfuscated. Bailey blamed the player. Then he blamed the GRA. The GRA blamed the player. The community now blames the GRA. Anyone still following this?

The actual guilty parties here are BetFred and Spielo / GTech. Can we try to remember that? The GRA just looks hopelessly inefficient and in the casino's pocket, and while that bears highlighting it is NOT the main story.

Probably going against the grain here, but what the heck. Personally we have a great relationship with Betfred and hope they can resolve this to everyone's satisfaction asap. They are a great partner and our players seem to love betting there - yes, even at the casino. They may have had issues with certain games but I doubt it's across the board and at least when the problem came to light it was dealt with.
Our top 5 free bets this month: Betfair sportsbook £25 free bet, William Hill £25 free bet (code F25), Bet Victor £25 free bet, Betfred £50 free bet, Paddy Power £50 free bet. FBA would like to say thanks to all sports our betting partners for providing these offers, players can't get enough of 'em! Roll on next month...

The commissioner seems to be doing his best to dig himself into a hole, he's made another response posted in that thread.

I've copied them both in a blog post for ease of reading:

    http://www.hundredpercentgambling.co...icle.php?id=66

I'm currently working on a commentary, but I hope he doesn't keep making lame responses, it's getting hard to keep up.

I think action could be taken here since there is a precedent on a case that just was closed and Betfred had to pay the players.

Here in the US we have class action suits. Most of the time we don't have to do anything, I got a check in the mail for $95 from a credit card company that was gauging. I was party to the class action and only got a notice that I could opt out if I wanted to. Otherwise I was automatically in. I know this is a US thing and not many places have that.

However, in Gibraltar, thanks the this article, we find there is a higher authority that the GGC has to answer to. And some players have already successfully utilized the process with Betfred and were paid. If players sought legal advice there may be a way to get the ball rolling for Betfred to compensate players in this case as well. I see a petition circulating now and that could be a helpful tool.

The application for Judicial Review instigated by... [5 players]

They already seem to know Mr Brear well.

    Just a thought.

    Holy Cow.

The focus is completely on the GRA. Who cares? Another authority with no authority. What about the players?

When will Betfred be held accountable to the players ?

BetFred believe they are acting fairly and correctly by reimbursing any losing bets for players that made contact after this issue came out. They could easily reimburse all affected players but chose not to do so.

I used to have good trust in this well established company but this type of action comes down to Top Game and RTGish type of behavior. Any affiliate should make players aware of this, so they can recover potential losses they might have had on this game.

As far as I am concerned, my trust in BetFred is gone. Completely.
