New APCW Website Launched

Over the past week a new APCW website was launched. You can see the new site at APCW.org.

The APCW has had two principal focuses over the past several years. One is on auditing affiliate programs to ensure they respect the interests of affiliates and that the sites they represent respect the interests of players. The other focus has been on presenting news and information about the online gaming industry in an entertaining and engaging fashion.

In launching the new website we have done our best to emphasize these two principal focuses of the APCW. Both of these focuses center around working to provide transparency in the industry.

Over the coming months you will see a much stronger and more visible focus within the APCW on transparency and in a more comprehensive auditing process to better serve the affiliate industry as a whole. The new look and feel of the website is a first small step in preparation of our launch of the new expanded APCW auditing process.

I should also say that the new website implementation is only partly completed. There are currently links to some material hosted on the Ning network used in the previous version of the site that has not yet been rebuilt. After all, Rome was not built in a day.

Awesome news! It's great to see that APCW isn't fading into the background. Lately, I have been concerned that the NING site was barely breathing and no one was posting there... welcome back to the land of the living J Todd!

We still have a lot of work to do on the site, and so for the present time some of the links go to places that will not be where they go over the longer term. And the forums and the content in Ning is the biggest area where more work remains.

I didn't take it that way at all, and besides, even if I did, I generally welcome criticism since it helps make sure we are moving the the right direction. I just wanted to make it clear that I agreed there was definitely an few issues to deal with surrounding Ning and the old version of the site, and that we know we have a bunch more work left to do in that area.

I can relate to that. I had to do the same thing in order to not hold up the publication of my portal. It was use that method or continue to have folks hound me about getting it published. hehe
