Default The Professor is back at CAP

Found this post today on CAP. The last paragraph sums it up....

I feel terrible for Dominique, she tried though!

    Professor is Back
<hr style="color: rgb(224, 237, 247); background-color: rgb(224, 237, 247);" size="1"> <!-- / icon and title --> <!-- message --> I wish I knew why this series of discussions on CAP have occured while I am on "vacation." I appreciate the input, but the timining is a bit bizzare. Dom were you instructed to start this series of CAP redesign discussions and if so by who as I wasnt consulted in the least b it. CAP is my baby and I never expected a kidnapping to occur while I was resting a little and attending to my mother who has cancer. (I know I haven't stated that before now but its an issue that is waying heavily on our family now and I wished to keep it private) I love CAP and once I get everything back in working order in my life I would like to come back to the same CAP I always knew and loved and watched grow to size it is now. Let's keep things in complete prospective.

    1. We just came off our largest show ever in London with over 1600 attenndees.
    2. Cancun will be a huge event as CAP Springbreak's Go and probably our largest ever.
    3. Amsterdam will brak all records for an affiliate event of any kind.
    4. CAP TV was laucnhed and is growing rapidly in quality, content and viewership.
    5. MyCAP was another one of my initiatives which is a great social network that allows our members a secure enviroment to further develop relationships.
    6. We are scheduling more CAP regionals in 2009 including Sydney so that more affiliates have access to conferences and events.
7 CAP Magazine is expanding each issue and will hopefully go monthly in 2009.
    8. Our membership[ has broken 8100 and is racing towards the magic ten thousand.

Have there been a few bumps in the road? Are theri controverisal posts on other boards? Yes, we arent perfect but we do our best each and everday to bring you the best. That includes me. I have worked from basically 7:00am - 11m every day for all these years and I dont think my leadership has been a detriment to CAP in the least bit.

In private I am being told I MUST remain silent and let things "settle down" this isnt what I see happening. I see you trying to restructure CAP via threads and polls without my advice or consent. If this is a Coup please let me know so I can recognize it and address what I have to do to stop my community from being wrestled away while my guard was down.

I was in London and I realized just how much CAP means to the industry and to me and I will be damned If I will be run off from what I loved, own and created along with all our members and team. I had hoped for some more time off until my mother gets through surgery, but If I cant have that brief rest withought losing CAP then i guess my hiatus will have to end immediately.

Guys I love CAP and I love what we are going to do in 2009. We had several long meetings with GPWA in London and they agreed to work positively with us moving forward. Based on all that I am rescinding any plans to step away. I wil be in and out as medical visits come up, but I am here to stay.

Dom, I want to say that I am thankful for your raising the discussions on the CAP forum about that forum's banning and certification procedures. I think these are areas where things are being run in a way that is not helpful for the affiliate community right now and that the discussions really showed potential avenues for making changes if the management was interested in improvements. I hope you know that depite Lou's statements the community supports your efforts and they do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Arkyt, in your search for improvements to the industry I think you may find focusing on current, constructive efforts and postive steps forward helps create more progress -- when contributions are thanks and recognized it makes it easier to step up. Conversely, raising unrelated criticism toward someone who is making real leadership contributions only makes others more relucant to step into a leadership role, especially when it is raised in the context of others offering thanks for the leadership.

What a drama queen. Hard to take this character seriously as a person.

His list of achievements reads like a claim for sole ownership of the online gambling industry. What's worrying is, he may yet get it, childish tantrums notwithstanding.

Granted. But the truth is always relevant. Always.

    Never censor the truth. Never.

I'm sure I don't need to explain why.

Dom should be commended for her efforts.

An open communication for issues that affect affiliates is just what was needed at CAP.

IMO if Lou had an issue with that, he could have PMed Dom, instead of another public rant.
We are behind you Dom and feel you have the industries best interests at heart.

Sorry Steven - IMO when someone uses the words "everything you do" stating fact is more than relevenat as clearly thats not in the least bit accurate. I have a habit of dismissing any level of credibility when credibility isn't due.

Ive communicated to dom for years that I thought what CAP was doing was wrong - why didnt she raise the issues in the past? I was the first to question CAPS certification process - where was she then?

IMO again, how can someone who has clearly been associated with fraud be considered a leader? Thats a major part of whats wrong with this industry!

Sure its nice that she is appearing to make some sort of effort now, but I refuse to forget the past! If these issues were important today they were important yesterday, last month, last year - shes ignored everyhing working side by side with everything thats been going wrong!

I know I was one of the last to jump ship. I know many feel I should have walked a lot sooner.

When I read this sort of dribble I am ashamed I did not. I am saggatarious and we are by nature loyal people. Takes a lot to effect that loyalty because frankly .. .that's what loyalty is. Sticking with people thru tough times. Giving them benefit of doubt when all else points against them. As long as there is the slightest possiblity of their being innocent or in what I demand for my loyalty .. is to at least be willing to admit when you're wrong and try to make ammends, then I will stay loyal.

I am attempting to make my ammends now.

Lou has obviously lost his perspective on reality if he thinks that blaming Dom ... or that by listing a bunch of future planned events ... that people are just going to say "okay, we're all good now".

Some may think I'm being oportunistic because I am opening my own forum and that is your right to feel that way. I may have myself if I were on the other side looking in. The truth is quite different. The forum was planned and begun before a lot of this current events happened. Dom knows that and can tell you because I contacted her before I ever announced the forum.

I wanted some place fun again to hang out and be able to talk without fear of reprisal or listening to extended rants about CAP because its non-productive and somewhat offensive to those who were just members .. not owners. They came to cap for their own agenda .. not to further Lou.

Anyway I am sickened that I held on to a loyalty that was undeserving. How he can accuse Dom of trying to "Coup" when the whole theory is so ludicrous I am astounded that it comes from Lou. He's the one that retired and he's the one THAT ASKED HER to step in and take the reigns.

I don't know whether to pray for his mother or for him because I don't know whether there's any truth behind what appears to be yet another tragedy to set upon him ... well I'm sorry because it might be that his Mother does have an illness but the little boy who cried wolf has done so once too often even for me.

I am certain this will get me banned at CAP but I'd already lost my taste for it anyway. I have been there several times since London and if I posted at all .. it was only once or twice to follow up on something (I don't think i've posted at all but can't remember)

I'm sorry to those I should have supported and turn my back on those who have proven to be unworthy of my support.

I just hope I'm able to be forgiven. In my defense I would say that if any of you were in Lou's shoes (I know, you wouldn't be because you wouldn't do that .. but work with me here).. that I'd have been just as hesitant to stop being loyal to you as I was in his case.

I tried to stay fair-minded. To embrace the possibilities however unlikely ... to give benefit of doubt and I'd done the same for any of you whom have known me for what has become many years now. *Keep in mind in almost all cases .. I knew Lou before others. That's the way I break a tie-breaker in case you're wondering.

If its true tht its never too late .. then I guess I'm okay. Because though it may have taken a long time .. I have finally made the journey.

Thanks for listening, hopefully for some understanding.

    Steve Briggs.

Thank you Steve you know the story as well as anyone. I wish you a very warm welcome back to reality.

I did believe Dom had a very good chance to change things over there. Oh well the Professor is back.

I will not have anything to do with members of CAP, Cap events, mods at CAP, or anything that resembles CAP. Trust was earned and betrayed, if people do not like truth so be it. And if people enjoy hanging out with a man with moral fiber of a brick wall so be it.

So bring it on CAP I am ready. Amazing what 2 weeks of research can achieve.

For the lurkers who wish me harm, I already know, I suggest don't bother.

    Ark I love ya but
I refuse to forget the past!
is only a good thing if its kept in perspective and in the past.

those who are unwilling to learn from history are doomed to repeat it .. that is true. but I'd venture to say it is also true that those who are unwilling to move forward will forever be stuck in that same time period.

If you're going to condemn everyone for every act they've done in the past .. that might not have been the best choice ... its going to be lonely where you're going.

Leaders ... good leaders ... come from having learned by their mistakes.

Lou is seemingly unwilling to learn. I don't think the same is true of Dom.

Dom has the best opportunity to change CAP.

I doubt she'll get that op now. It would really, really be mental-health ward time if he kept her around after making such accusations while at same time having banned so many others for so much less (allegedly).

And I'd not made the above statement if i didn't already feel very confident that Lou will ban Dom. I don't see how he couldn't after making that statement, but then again I've just been told he changed his post at CAP.

Thats fair logic, but based on experience - this industry isn't intersted in learning from mistakes - they seem to be more interested in putting bandaids on the infected extremities instead of just cutting them off even when they clearly are not worth saving!

"Those who are unaware of history are destined to repeat it." George Santayana

Considering that I have a real hard time walking hand and hand into the future with the people who IMO have been doing not only me, but the entire industry wrong for years. If you continue down the same paths of reconciliations time after time you havent learned from history - you are only setting yourself up for the same disappointments down the road.

If I cant help someone see the light my interest in "honor over advantage - service over personal gain" tells me it might be time to show them the heat - or at least make those lights a little brighter so that they might finally see what I am seeing.

If the industry buries all its wrong-doing and we all forget where we have been, we will never know where we are going. In another 5 years we will still be sitting here spinning the exact same wheels and all those who are directly benefiting will be the ones happy and jolly watching us spin.

You're right sir and actually it bothered me almost from the start that i had worded myself wrong and why i came back as soon as I did.

I think especially after reading your last post that we're meaning or heading in the same direction but i worded myself wrong in a couple of spots.

without correcting every grammar mistake .. what I meant to be saying was that lets learn from our mistakes but move forward and not dwell in a subject that i I think we can all agree (finally) (my bad) that is toast.

I don't think anybody's arguing on Lou's behalf anymore and with exception to archives I don't see CAP being the outstanding aff tool that it once was not so very long ago.

    Its about the people.

    and they're gone.

I think so am I from this subject. Its been brought out into the light. IMHO been killed or at least beat to submission. Stick a fork in it .. its done.

What else is there to discuss? (on this matter).
