Now now, lets try to remain focused on the task at hand - moving in a positive direction. Try not to get involved in speaking out against what is wrong, just have faith that the industry is safe in the hands of those who repent, repent, repent and then repent again. Things are going to be just fine and dandy - hallalueah.

Work on wearing a smile - it really helps, try it - smile and everything will be jolly and merry. Dont fret and worry about all the negative things of the past - nor should you anticipate that history will repeat itself as its been proven before; lets just look toward the future and rejoice in the positive changes which will directly benefit each and every affiliate of the industry and not just a few. Cause you just know things are looking up - this place rocks!

To have a better understanding of this industry, read the threads made during 2003-2004 here: http://mb.winneronline.com/forumdisp...0&daysprune=-1
and will see that any chance to work together (CAP and GPWA) for the benefit of all in this industry is out of question. Anyone is saying that we must move in positive direction towards working together (CAP and GPWA) is either deceptive of lost touch with the real word. also, I don't beleive in leaders, but in the power of the masses. One can't deceive gravity. Also imho having no forum is still better than a dozen deceptive one.
Not-helping is still better than leading the blind into the pit.

Well I am not obsessing over them but it would be nice if Lou got off his high horse and paid the affiliates he still owes money to for CardSpike

Would this be defined as obsessing over CAP? Or have we forgotten that they havent paid all their affiliates yet

I still haven't been paid from Cardspike (Lou) form my earnings in October and November. I was contacted by 'Peter' from Cardspike asking my username about a month or so ago so I could be paid, but it never happened.

That could be the rest of the industies fault for creating disruptive distractions; if so we should all send out an apology.

Thanks to all those who feel a sense of genuine responsibility to the industry, CAP will rise above it all. So have no fears things are looking up; no doubt all those outstanding issues will be forgotten in time. Have a great day!

Look, I might have an account at the moment on the CAP website, and perhaps I should not use it at all. But I firmly believe I will not have that account at all if I use it to initiate threads that CAP views as controversial within their own forum. Others like Dominique need to do that. About the most I feel I can do there is explain the situation as I see it with respect to a topic that has been raised by others with the hope that it will either help make others aware of the issue or perhaps change the way CAP handles certain situations. There are some here who seem to think it is bad to help CAP improve at all. Personally, I'm willing to try to help those I think are on the wrong path move closer to the right path, even when that is not on the most important issues. But I do view the banning and avatar-changing issues as being of importance even though I would certainly agree there are many other important issues, and many issues which some might view as more important. But I'd also say the banning issue is more important than it might appear on the surface as compared with other issues because banning and censorship restrict the freedom to discuss other issues, and without those freedoms it is very difficult to make progress in the case of conflict.

In the forum on the CAP website started by Dominique about CAP banning practices Lou made the following statement:

    Quote Originally Posted by Professor

The only people who have been banned in months were Michael and Steven Corfman and I did that in response to the constant negativitiy I was seeing about CAP in their videos and on the message board and polls. I dont think that was uncalled for given the hostility.
In response I made the following statement to try to set the record straight and to expose some of the issues webmasters had complained about in the thread about CAP bannings here:

Since I'm currently unbanned here (thank you Dom), I would like to respectfully disagree with this statement. At the time Steven and I were banned we had made no negative statements. We were banned after we acquired the APCW. At that point in time there were no negative videos, no negative polls, and no negative posts of any sort anytime at all in probably a year. In fact, it was in response to the banning that we took the first "negative poll" took place on the GPWA website - and that was one that questioned the banning practices of CAP. It struck a strong cord among affiliates, and an outcry against activities such as changing avatars in a way that was offensive to the person whose avatar was changed, editing posts to change their meaning, and in some cases making posts under a persons account when they had not made a post themselves.
    Lou responded as follows:

    Quote Originally Posted by Professor

I dont do that in yours and I would appreciate if you afforded me the same professional courtesy.
The message that I was treading a bit to close to the line was pretty clear there. So I responded as follows:

I was not trying to go on the offensive, and I apologize if it came off that way. I was just trying to point out that the reason you gave for banning Steven and I was, in my opinion, inconsistent with the circumstances at the time. But I don't want to belabor that point since we are not banned now. I do want to point out that the types of rules Dom suggested in the initial post in this thread are good ones from my perspective because in my opinion we would not have been banned if such rules had been followed at the time.

Also, I would like to point out, because I just discovered it, that my avatar was evidently changed to a clown. I'd like to suggest that CAP adopt a new philosophy that it is not appropriate to make avatar changes like that as part of the banning process when bannings do occur.
Personally, I don't call this being best friends. I call it being friendly but firm. Lou responded as follows:

    Quote Originally Posted by Professor

I have PMed you. Please call me so we can avoid misunderstandings and please do not agitate threads that have calmed down or challenge our policies. I dont do that at your business and I feel it inappropriate and hostile behavior if you do that here. If you prefer to call Warren please do that. But lets stop the posts in this vein please.

Again peace was offered and discussed in London, let's stay on that path. No one benefits from this constant turmoil and I sincerely want us all to concentrate on expanding the industry and servicing the affiliate sector in a positive and professional manner. I hope you agree thats the best course to follow.
And then bonustreak chimed in as follows:

    Quote Originally Posted by bonustreak

    And then Lou replied:

And I closed out the exchange with the following post:

Thanks professor, I really appreciate that. Not so much that the change to my avatar upset me personally, because I have a pretty good sense of humor about such things, but I know that has not always been the case with others.

So thank you very much for your commitment to a very positive step forward.
Now it seems some folks here are upset that I thanked to Lou very nicely for a commitment to a positive step forward. Personally, I believe in acknowledging forward movement in one area, even when I am not confident there will be forward movement in another area. And I think that is particularly true when I have exposed a whole truckload of negative issues that need to be addressed. Acknowledging positive steps, however big or small they might be, is, in my opinion, the right human thing to do.

I think everyone is eager to see the benefits of these very important positive strides which will undoubtedly directly affect the industry as a whole.

Heck, it wasn't that long ago that some were being reprimanded for jokes involving facebook by those who were perpetrating their own little jokes which were much more devious. Sure plenty of people spoke out against those things back then, but now it can finally be addressed - bravo; we are on a path to greatness. Let us forget the years of wrong-doings and look forward.

Smile my little Love Bunny things are looking up!

Michael has to be cordial, because it's how he is, and it would seem odd if he changed now, so don't hold it against him.

    Who owns Cardspike?

More than just I am waiting for the answer. Too many for it to be called a vendetta or whatever.

Yes, the benefits are starting already. People no longer need to live in terror that they will be manipulated through the use of mutilated avatars controlling them like voodoo dolls if they resign from CAP. Look at the most recent post in the subject thread now that folks are no longer held hostage to the fate of their avatars!

Yes, I agree - the relief they must feel is unmeasurable not to mention the overall benefit the industry as whole receives.

The Professor said those were the only 2 people he banned???

I was banned two weeks ago for asking for a further explanation about the Cardspike issue. Maybe he means, those were the only 2 people he banned that people know.

And also, you guys who just let this avatar situation just blow over are gullable as hell. These weren't jokes, they were meant to be malicious because the Professor was in major defense mode. Now you guys are just saying, oh, okay, well as long as it was just a joke. HA!

Why do we have to move forward and make things better with CAP? They run Cardspike and don't pay affiliates. They run Absolute Slots and won't admit it. They ban members who have their own thoughts and don't just suck up to the power teet. They should be done, we should all abandon them and move on for the betterment of the industry. Who does it help by us 'fixing' the CAP situation, NO ONE EXCEPT LOU!

I think it helps Warren too, and the employees of Affiliate Media and Effective Media Group and their business partners. And also affiliates that know just about CAP and not about the other affiliate forums and resources available.

And, I want to particularly emphasize the very important point I made before: affiliates no longer need to live in terror that they will be manipulated through the use of mutilated avatars controlling them like voodoo dolls if they resign from CAP.

I dont think thats a fair comment considering all the success the industry has collectively shared of late.

Live in fear over their avatar being changed? Is anyone truly living in fear of that happening?

Come on, get real, that's just the actions of what a child would do.

while they're neat to look at .. I've always thought the avatars are rather a child-like luxury in the case of aff communications anyway.

who cares as long as it isn't visually offensive to someone in an understandable way. meaning if you got replaced with a donkey ... well I guess I'm really dense because I thought part of the idea was that you could choose something funny or perhaps as business logo.

but like for myself .. I never knew they were changed but thought that many of the ones that apparently were put in there as insults .. were quite cool.

I recall the hamburglar being one. I thought that was a great choice! silly me.

but I think it puts into perspective the amount of damage done by changing avatars.

Frankly what is more concerning is that anybody would take time to BOTHER to do that kind of **** when they own a business that makes millions.

hello Lou? do you not see the flaw in your approach?

But its just as bad to let it get to you to such a point that one further second of your time is taken up over such matters and with that I'm done.
