The booze feast is actually what turns me off .Difficult to do business at the event which is why we usually meet our managers for Late lunch and hope they are sober lol.

I don't think Shaun should be crucified for his views on the CAP events. I have only been to 1 of them (Barcelona) and it was a nice event. I think Alex is the one to attribute the success of the shows, not CAP 100%, and he deserves the credit for putting on the show.

I don't know how the shows work in the backend, but I am sure it is somehow tied very well to 'CAP Certified Programs'.

What would be nice is an...

    'Open Source Event'

Where programs would NOT have to be CAP Certified to participate at a decent price point. If there was something like that, I think programs may flock to it. Not that we need another event - lord frickin' knows!!! We just need an open event that is not tied to brow-beating tactics to join a paid certification (IMO)

Again - I don't know the behind the scenes details, but I would guess there is a difference between the amount a 'CAP Certified' and non-'CAP Certified' program pays. Makes for an uneven event if that is the case.

But - let's not kill Shaun for bringing up a valid viewpoint on CAP putting on a good show. It is a good show.

Back to EM affiliated program.... CAP/AM/EMG needs to come forth with this information... not that they ever will.

I don't party at conferences, I have meetings during the day and I don't attend the parties.

A conference is a place where you find a lot of affiliates and affiliate managers in one spot.

What you do with that is up to you.

I am sorry but who allows you to judge my morals, by saying I think CAP/Alex runs a very good events does not mean I have bad morals, in fact far from it.

You do not know me and you haver never worked with me so to judge my morals via a post is wrong.

Cap for me is like a virus, no cure that feeds of their host and continues to spread. Infecting deceit minds with false hopes and broken dreams.

Regarding programs affiliated with EM I would surely like to know, I know this whole transparency is not morally sound LMAO. Instead I will rely on research and company moles to provide me a list. Now that is a good business model to follow. Know who your dealing with!

I am sorry again another post that is 100% wrong.

You guys should should not just judge without knowing......

I do not need to fly for 24 hours and feel like crap to get drunk I could do that anytime I like in Costa Rica.

I had a a total of 27 meetings during CAP all pre arranged nothing on the spot to me these events have value, the booze side of things is standard when you attend such events it was the same when i was broker in the UK.

In regards to Alex yeah he does an excellent job, no question. But the label he carries is CAP which happens to give me the creeps. I would rather attend a non-branded event.

I dont mind if people want to have a pop at me I can live with that, as long as they post facts, trust me I will have a pop back if needed.

I have never taken a booth at any CAP events so I do not really have any idea what they cost, I did host the party at CAP Barcelona so thios is the only thing I have ever done with CAP aside from taking the seal. I do think that the prices do change if you hav ethe CAP seal.

    No problem

I just want other Affiliate Managers to be able to respond and if they see one being flogged, so to speak, they may not be as willing to jump in.

I just think everyone needs to treat everyone else with respect. We all have opinions and none can be the only 100% 'right' opinion If we talk about things instead of 'jumping on' each other's words, we could probably get more input and possible solutions.

I don't want to 'rock the boat' or anything, just want to see fairness and the ability to problem solve instead of what sometimes amounts to needless bickering.

And still you are saying I have no morals???

I think most people would rather attenda non branded event, we do not have one in the industry, i think recent event are really going to damage all of the events, as it currently stands i have not heard loads of people shouting about CAC in fact it is the other way around.

I know one group of affiliates that are very big and have always supported Marc in Holland and Russia, to the point of paying for there own tickets they have decided tio go with CAP, several rooms that had stands last year are not attending.

The industry is getting split right down the middle and it is not good for affiliates or the rooms.

Barcalona was an amazing event (GPWA event in Barca was also great, thanks for the chance to speak and say my bit) London was also another cracking event, to be honest when the events happen I hardly go to the floor I am the events to do business I have a suite and I do all of my meeting within the suite, the only i left the suite during the day was to smoke (which I have now stopped) and to speak at the rakeback session.

As for what happened with CAP Vs GPWA i have no comment I heard 5 versions of events.

So for me London was great and I very much hope CAP keeps up th egood work.

Shaun i agree with your original response, totally no need for this thread etc.

But you seem to have taken it right personal now and it will open you open to accusations like no morals and so forth which are uncalled for so be prepared for the onslaught because i have found that it is very difficult to have a debate about CAP on here without being shouted down if you dont follow the crowd.

I speak with AM'S all the time and the feedback i am getting is this is now just tired so to continuing to beat this dead horse any further does indeed look like a witch hunt.

Surely anyone going with any new programs just has to ask are you affiliated with EM or whoever, no need to try and build a list like this thread is trying to do.

But good luck Shaun, you aint going to find this easy

IMO the fact that they are associated with a good event doesn't measure up to the fact that they are feasting off the industry on the backside!

I dont understand why anybody with an understanding of ethics and morals would wish to continue to support a venture like that - other than selfish greed. IMO its hurting the entire industry for the betterment of just a select few - I will never support that.

... and congrats for kicking the habit shaun - stay off those things!

If I sated that you had no morals how would you react?

The CAP topic is old it is tired but some of you will not let it go, the guys from CAP will never admit to doing anything wrong so you have a couple of choices,

    1. Move on and continue with your business and making money

    2. People can keep opening new threads regarding CAP (still they will not admit any wrong doing)

    3. Leave all gaming affiliates forums and start posting in A4U

Of course you will never be able to debate about CAP on the GPWA forum try doing it on PAL and see what happens you will get blown apart, now try this go to CAP and post something bad about GPWA and you will find the same kind of thing.
