That crossed my mind, but I think that would just get me into other (far more serious) trouble....

It's a shame that there are so many crooks out there. One should almost forget that there are still many good people too. The trick is finding them.....

I think I've finally come to a solution, SEO's should offer money back guarantees, in writing so you can hold them responsible for what they do. And this is what I intend to start doing, hopefully the legitimate businesses in industry will follow me.

Veniti also mentions a money back guarantee on their website, but as long as there is no authority which helps you getting it, customers are still dependent on the cooperation of the company.
Maybe some kind of a quality seal (like the GPWA seal here) could be a solution.

This week I was suprised by an email of the managing director of Veniti. He wrote that many things gone wrong within the company for the last 2 months and he announced to contact all individual clients to solve all the existing problems.

I don't know what it's worth yet, but maybe a refund is starting to glimmer on the horizon. I'll keep you posted.

A money back guarantee... I like the sound of that.

The problem is that it takes a lot of money for a 3rd party to devise the strategy, do the research, and implement all the pieces... And in reality, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

I was trying my best to find a pay-for-performance SEO. None exist for the reason above, I'm guessing.

Also, my metric is always traffic - not ranking position. so right away there is a disconnect in the system.

well if the company is a registered business and they give you a money back guarantee you could complain to companies house or to trading standards.

the trouble with seo companies offering money back is the way the word everything so actually in court the claim wouldnt stand up. To check an seo company properly you have to do proper digging, ask for previous results, ask for previous clients they have had that you can contact for testomonies, google the company and see if any bad reviews come up on forums, ask exactly what they would do with your budget. thats just for starters aswell

Yes I agree. Dealing your work in offshore and outsourcing is a way half in gambling. You just meet your provider online, no seeing of faces, you just talk by email or by phone. Most of them are well verse in chit-chat and promises. Be careful those are the signs. Look for results or maybe a referral or portfolio of their work. Sometimes a website is not enough to prove that they are really legally operated. Thanks to google for localization now, I think this is address your questions.

Default Veniti seo....a v.v.v.v.bad experience as well......to the tune of £33,000!!!

In brief i made the (massive and v.costly) mistake of hiring Veniti (Ash Ruparell , Ash Patel etc - he has a few names as most con artists do) to do a huge amount of seo for me (recommended by a mutual friend....hmmmm). He skinned me for £33,000 ($52,000).......did essentially "**** all" and makes no apologies - i am after his blood!

and get this... he has a CCJ (County Court Judement) after his company "Veniti media" ... and another for "VENITI LTD" - both companies have a CCJ! What a fcukin idiot.......

He also now seems to be trading again after his company dissolvement.....(as is usual with these builder/con artist types...)

Any one else had with this guy/company please pm me.

It's sad to hear your story Skywalker! Much more costly than mine unfortunately and I think the best thing we can do is to spread the word all over the internet. Making every Google search popping up the warning not to do business with Ash Ruparell and his crook firm Veniti!

Well.....there is a very good way to STOP Ash Ruparell and his company Veniti ( seo ) media. Build some back links to this thread from wherever you can .....use the anchor text link below and link into the first post of this thread - i have 800 links currently being built (****** blog post links but links nonetheless) and i reckon it won't be too hard to get this post to pos. No2 in Google.com/.co.uk etc for "veniti" and "veniti seo"

    ANCHOR TEXT LINK:
    Veniti media
    Veniti
    Veniti seo

For a quick cheap link blast use one of those spammy link building companies like:
    monsterbacklinks. com/
    thebacklinkbuilders. com / index.php
etc. for $50 it should do the trick....

Anyone else fancy chipping in (use services above) and building some links please go ahead - it'll only be $20 or so and will be good to GET THIS BASTARD Ash Ruparell / Veniti !

Default Veniti Media (Ash Ruparrel) - follow up....

Can you believe it ....that **** Ash from Veniti had the ********* ba*** to call me on my mobile (cell phone) and start complaining/threatening me about my post on GPWA.....I was flabbergasted (and frekin' fuming!) - this guy HAS to be stopped - he has no morals and doesn't give a damn about anyone apart from himself.....he makes no apologies, has no remorse.....nice guy eh....

    Default future conduct

Sorry to hear that. Its a chunk of money for no results and actually no work done at all.
I would recommend you take the money and "do it yourself" next time.
If you still feel that you prefer a more pro SEO Service set up goals and make an agreement that you pay when goals are met.
For example choose 4 kw and set the goal position at top 7.
You can pay according to amount of targeted traffic.
I would recommend you offer a monthly retainer of 150GBP and the extra according to results.

    Good luck next time

I've had a main stream SEO company since 1998. Since 2005 have focused solely on online gaming SEO and consultancy.
In 07 I held the contract for Vegas Palms for FL - so I'm no hack.

However I rarely do any commercial work these days other than my own sites.

It's not that hard to obtain short term results.
However it's experience, knowledge and having your finger on the pulse of your niche that will sustain longevity within page one serps.

Unfortunately these days there are just too many cowboys who have no qualms is telling a client what they want to hear. They have no scruples in charging for work they don't have the skills to perform. 9 times out of 10 not only will you be out of pocket financially but it's very likely you'll find your url blacklisted and penalised in Google to boot.

My advise to any affiliate or anyone with their own site is learn seo yourself.

Be aware there is a lot of garbage information put out by people trying to make a name for themselves or their web site. Be selective and educated on what information you accept as being Kosher.

Follow Google's recommendations pertaining to site lay-outs.

Set up a test site and practice fine tuning that before commencing on your bread and butter site.
Better to make mistakes on a site that wont effect your income.

Unless your a large company with deep pockets who can afford to hire a respected and well known SEO consultant/company, don't bother.
Your far better doing it yourself - this also includes link building too.

    Cheers

    Dave

Angry Bad experience with veniti media

I too had a bad experience with veniti they took money for link building activity and on site optimisation and stopped returning calls, we later found out they outsourced to india and didn't pay their suppliers either...the owner ash harshad ruparrel is a liar, do not trust him.
