Beware of bad seo company

I too had a bad experience with veniti they took money for link building activity and on site optimisation and stopped returning calls, we later found out they outsourced to india and didn't pay their suppliers either...the owner ash harshad ruparrel is a liar, do not trust him.

My advise to any affiliate or anyone with their own site is learn seo yourself.

I think you're right Dave, but webmasters have to do a lot themselves. Building and designing a website, mastering scripts, seo, marketing, banner making etc. etc.

Outsourcing some of these tasks saves a lot of time and (you hope) the job will be done good and professionally.

I finally found a good and trusted company (EcomAccess) who did a great seo job for me and also provided me with all the information needed to do it myself on my other websites. So in my case, I think it's money well spent.

Another good thing is this thread is ranking No3 for "Veniti" and No1 in Google for "Veniti seo" (you can see how good/bad they are at seo lol)..... so at least future clients will have the benefit of seeing what sort of (lack of) seo Veniti will do for them.......

That really sucks. But you get that kinda thing everywhere. Its unfortunate you couldn't find anything on them.

But, that being said, (and not replying with some ****-a-may-mee self promoting crap like I'm seeing in this thread), I'll give you some advice if you'll have it.

First off, strike back at these jerks by spending a few bucks on a SEO enhanced wordpress blog (templatemonster has them for $28 or so).

Do basic SEO targeting their name. Point a few links at it.

This way there won't be any more victims. PM me and I'll give you a few secrets on how to really get it out there where YOU will rank either over them or right next to them.

Next, do a little research. I've written a lot of posts here on organic SEO and basic SEO, which is all you need for organic mobile rankings. Mobile search is a very soft market. I think GPWA Magazine published one of my articles last year entitled 'Mobile SEO' (go figure )

A good example to demonstrate/define this is that mobile search looks at keyword metatags (normal search algorithms haven't used them in years), or the fact that I've had 3 out of the top 5 results doing a mobile search show the exact same website...that's a soft market!

Few SEO's or SEO companies know anything about Mobile SEO until someone asks. You probably knew more than they did until you asked and they did a bit of homework.

Second, any SEO company I know of (and I know them all) wouldn't touch ANY gaming SEO campaign on ANY venue (desktop, mobile, etc.) for anything less than 5k GBP - it just can't be done - plain and simple. Trust me I know the gaming industry and I know SEO/Mobile SEO.

Lastly, with the above in mind, lets see how we can get you generating some revenue without having to rely on someone else - eh?

So here we go.....

Optimise your site with basic SEO techniques like kw in title, description, keywords, alt image tags and titles and your subdirectory names. Point a few links at them (the $299 from Yahoo for a permanent PR7 link is a good start) and use your keywords - just don't duplicate the anchors over and over.

Do a few basic things like canonicalisation through webmaster central, creating robots.txt and xml file and submit them.

Do a some social bookmarking to the sites through Stumbleupon, Digg, Reddit, MrWong and even facebook amy myspace.

Okay now your ready.

Get a few hundred dollars together and open accounts with Google, Yahoo, Bing, AdMob, Ubiyoo...and if you are in the states 7search and a few other low-cost 3rd tier PPC companies that offer mobile search.

Fund each minimally and target longtail terms rather than 'hollywood' terms like Poker or Slots.

You may need to piggyback someone else's account if any of these companies give you a hard time because you are doing gaming. You may even want to initially open them and promote something else other than gambling just to get past the initial prying eyes. For instance Facebook is great but you'll only get a week or so of traffic before they shut you down unless you spend 30k per month. (But done the right way, you can continually roll accounts through them for a month or so - and in the right scenario this can make you some nice coin to explore other things, or you can roll sites and accounts simultaneously like blackhats do - but that's a whole other post

I wrote a post somewhere (here I think) called PPC 101 - if you don't know PPC you should read it. Bear in mind it is about 4 years old but 99% of it is still relevant. (search garythescubaguy or gary beal and ppc 101 or even 'ppc managers' and look for my blog)

I wrote that for desktop search but the primary take-away would be that when you open these accounts you will be asked where to deliver the ads - always choose mobile. Some will even ask you what devices and what networks; select them all.

DEFINITELY use image ads as well. Create several and rotate them until you identify the best converter.

Demographically speaking 18 - 54 males are your target for mobile gaming. Bingo, forex and slots are totally different so lmk what your in and i'll pm you the best setting.

As you learn, write a few 300-500 word articles on the steps you took, what you learned, etc.

Open an account with ezines and start sending these to them. After a few they will let you add links. THIS IS GOOD

This will get you on your way to doing your own SEO - at least you'll know who you are dealing with

Although I really like to kick some #ss at Veniti, I'm tired of it and also too busy to set up a campaign to give them a hard time.

Must say though that I've found a SEO company which did (imho) a very good job for a small budget, which included many of the above.
First they optimized my existing mobile AdWords campaign. Unfortunately once it was ready, Google disabled my account because they marked my site as bridgepages. Well, a lot of horror stories about that policy are meanwhile spread all over the web.
Further they did an extensive seo audit on my mobile site (including canonicalisation) and helped me gaining more authority (blogging, articlewriting, linkbuilding, social bookmarking etc). I'll definitely read your seo post too though!

Just recently I added a blog, wrote the first articles, submitted them at some ezines, opened a facebook account (already use twitter) and will open some more social accounts soon.

I've worked with about 20 mobile and regular PPC networks in the past 3 years, but must say nothing beats Google. Too bad they won't let me advertise anymore with my gambling sites.
Now we're starting up a PPC campaign with Bing. I found Yahoo quite expensive. My experience with many 3rd tier search networks is not very good though. Cheap, but low quality traffic, but I'll certainly look up your PPC 101 article.

Got a very interesting report on the differences between online and mobile gamblers including demographics. It is a real eye-opener. Just pm me if you like a copy.

But times are hard because of the global recession and at AGD is a post about webmasters thinking of quiting the job. Despite all bad stories, I'm convinced online and mobile gambling will stay a very profitable market.
I hope my horoscope will be right, saying in 2011 my investments of 2010 will pay off lol.

Well I spend a few hundred thousand pounds a month with them. If you want to piggy back my account I am more that willing. I pay a few different ppc people I have trained over the years 10% to manage them, but they earn their keep of your interested.

Ive done gaming PPC for 13 years and have taught these guys everything I know. i'm not talking about dayparting - I mean KW weighting and a lot of techniques even the top companies don't use.

Sdnd 1k an d I'll show you what they can do (not poker or slots though as I have NC's)

Either way if your willing to pend 10 a month lmk and I'll get you an account.

I would still try reading up on SEO on the Internet.After a while you will discover that it is not rocket science!!!!

I was a welder for 30 years and only launched my website 8 months ago with no I.T experience at all and i am now finding that seo is pretty easy once you know how the Internet works!.....but that is the hardest bit!....understanding how it all ticks!

At the end of the day i do not think there is a SEO company in the world that knows "EXACTLY" what is best as Google keep their alogarithms locked away and keep changing them too!!!!.....so i would be wary of any seo consultant claiming he "knows it all"....as i do not think there is one that does!!!!

A google search on "seo"...will bring you a wide range of views by seo consultants.....so it is not an exact science!!!!!

I think you need to be very wary of SEO consultants claiming they can do this that and the other and they have such and such clients!!!!
