I would rather call them Grumblers. If a grumbler wants to attract attention he has to 'publish' a hate speech, only then people will take notice of him. That's how the modern society works, all the more in open forums.
Daera (17 June 2009)
I know what you are saying but again, I think this is slightly different. People who grumble tend to have a reason to grumble. A hater is someone that is bored and joins in on something that they have no relationship with but they think they are "helping" or just like to see/start a virtual ruck.
In this industry, haters can cause players and affiliates to avoid a casino or an affiliate program. Their ammo could be something that has come from a post they saw in a forum and they say something like "I saw thisone post somewhere where it said casinoXYZ didnt pay out a players winnings" or "that affiliate program should be avoided as it never pays affiliates, I saw this post where this guy never got paid"
Did they not get paid or was the post just never updated or did it really happen?
Who knows?

A hater can, just as a grumbler, have a reason to hate, and many grumblers also grumble by habit. So I don't see much difference between the two types. We have to live with the fact that the modern communication media, especially the Internet with its forums and social networks, including YouTube, give people a tool to 'play' with words, pictures and thoughts without thinking much about the consequences of their doing. Not the hater is the problem, but the one who takes the hater's venom for the truth without checking.
Hi all,
... lets not forget that there is a lot more to hate lately. Namely predatory sponsors and sponsors turning predatory.
While everything wrong isn't to fall to the responsibility of the sponsors ... a lot of it does.
Complaining, hating whatever you want to call it ... is our only way of getting legitimate issues heard by ears that will actually do anything.
Its true there are some habitual complainers but as someone pointed out ... for every 1 unsatisfied customer heard ... there are 10 existing.
This industry is not exactly famous for its ability to plan wisely for the future but if those who currently hold spotlight would like to continue in such fashion they'd better get their **** together before Vegas goes on line.
If that were to happen today I can't think of one single software that has a reputation capable of competing with a Harrahs etc.
Good reputations are built ... not bought and the players in todays market should realize that now if they want to be able to compete down the road.

Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

Hey I was only kidding don’t consider myself an anarchist. The word “hate” IMO is a useless word yet I find myself using it occasionally. I put “hate” in the same class of words like, stupid, dumb, smart, etc… for these words are useless IMO. To call another stupid what does that mean. Stupid relative too what our culture?
Anyway I think “hate” can be replaced with dislike. For those who “hate” others in reality you only hate parts of yourself I suppose.
Martyn way I feel I am likely “hated” by many just my sense. Although I don't relish with the idea I accept it.
Good points BB, if Vegas goes online I can see a fair bit of programs possible going out of business if no contingency plans are in place. They would be regulated and held accountable legally. So where would the players go? Likely Harrahs trust is everything, something affiliates have been seeing less of these days.If that were to happen today I can't think of one single software that has a reputation capable of competing with a Harrahs etc.

I was pulling your plonker.
In all seriousness: If you are a player, or affiliate maybe, you can at times get nowhere quickly contacting support etc.
I have seen things esculated to the boards, after every other avenue is exhausted, that suddenly get dealt with.
It's about strength in numbers. I have a problem, others help, even though it's not actually "thier" business. When I see you with a problem, I chime in if I genuinely believe you have a solid case.
So now you know. Seeing as you asked. (see below)
Cheers.

I have read through this entire thread and one thing i have noticed thats missing is "Hater Affiliate Managers"?
Yes there are plenty of player/affiliates that are haters, complainers, etc....BUT lets not leave out those friendly AM's that could careless about the very people that give them their jobs! I mean, i have had dealings with some "hater affiliate managers" who were the most miserable son of a bitches i have ever had to deal with. So, i will not name names, but lets be fair, some of the complaints that affiliates have, are because they are dealing with such idiot AMs.
Also, if you notice, most of the affiliates the do the complaining, are seasoned affiliates who have taken the crap for many years and are now secure enough in their business and knowledgeable enough in the business to be confident enough to speak up for themselves and others when things are not just or fair.
As for me, i am a lover, not a hater.....but when i do have my "hating" days, i blame it on

LOL
Good points.
I just figured out that I just don't like the word 'haters'. I think the word haters puts everyone in a derogatory box that some may not deserve. I understand complainers, bitching, whining, crying, fighting, a%holes.
Hater is not in my vocabulary. Too strong a word for my delicate sensibilities.![]()

What gives you that impression Renee? I'm purdy familiar with all the threads over at Casinomeister and have been for quite some time now. Hate is a purdy damn strong word. Are you referring to any particular post or thread over there that would give you that impression? Please example that statement if you don't mind, so we can continue.

It was light hearted banter, but in specific I was referring to the thread about the CWC Spam. The first couple of posts in particular. The language used and the overall feel of the first post or so...
It's interesting to see how some people deal with things like spam compared to other people..
In particular at CMs there is one player who will post wherever he can in any thread about bonuses and T&Cs about our casinos and that you can't have more than one bonus across our group (even though I have explained to him that is not true) etc...
So even though I've explained it's not true, they continue to hate on us. I look forward to it now actually. It's the only drama I have in my life now![]()

I'm sure this is absolutely true, but I have to say I haven't seen any affiliate manager post about a certain affiliate everywhere they can, even if the thread doesn't involve that affiliate etc etc.. in this context I don't think I've seen the case..
I could be wrong though..
I do agree though that there are some aff managers out there who are just miserable all the time. How could you be miserable when you have the best job in the world!? (Or a hair cut like Martyn)

[quote]Well the first post and thread starter was me by the wayjust in case you didn't know. I did say "please" though in my short and single paragraph there. Don't really know what language you are referring to in that short paragraph, if that is the one you meant as "language used". I do hope that my frustration level and overall feel for this type of nonsense was made clear though.
I have found the best way to deal with continuous SPAM from the same affiliate group over the past six months is to start posting about it on public forum boards until the situation is corrected. What's more interesting than that is seeing how far some players and affiliates can be pushed to the breaking point of frustration with all of this SPAM that has been coming from the CWG of affiliates the past six or so months. Whether I am speaking as an affiliate or player, SPAM is SPAM no matter. It's not rocket science for Martyn or any other affiliate manager to find out who the affiliate is and suspend their account when they hear of these instances and are presented with the evidence. CM has many many posts published there over the past six months regarding ClubWorld SPAM.It's interesting to see how some people deal with things like spam compared to other people..
As an affiliate of ClubWorld myself I don't send out SPAM and I don't want to receive any SPAM from one of their other affiliates either. It makes us all look bad as affiliates and it makes ClubWorld look even worse when they don't even bother to make a reply to a thread on one of the most prominent casino forum boards on the net regarding the issue.
So the next question is "Why no response"? Does that mean that ClubWorld is ok with their affiliates sending out SPAM and they condone this type of marketing behavior? Or, they know that some of their affiliates do in fact sent out hundreds of thousands of these SPAM emails and they just would rather not acknowledge that fact or respond to it? This particular affiliate even used "Villento" as a scape goat in that SPAM email.
ClubWorld is surely better than this, and it has actually surprised me that neither Martyn or Tom has bothered with a reply to that thread in the past six days that it has been posted there. How does that look to all the players that hold ClubWorld in such high regard, including myself? Does anyone here actually believe that this type of marketing behavior will be tolerated by any of the big guns like Harrah's when they go online?
That thread and post there was never meant to be "hating" on ClubWorld. Like I said previously, I promote ClubWorld every chance I get and I have also been one of their players since way back in 06. I was hoping that the post would garner some serious attention to the fact that many of ClubWorlds Affiliates continuously are caught engaging in SPAM emails and a serious intervention is needed by Martyn or his supervisor regarding this.
One last question here...Which would have been more productive for an affiliate manager and company representative, to take the time to start this thread here and make comments about "haters" or try and deal with these rogue affiliates? I rest my case..
Martyn, I hope you have thick skin brother as this post is not meant toward you in an offensive manner but one of insight and I hope you look upon it in that light as well.
