Ubersuggest is, or was, a good tool if you have no access to proper paid tools like Ahrefs, SEM rush etc and are starting out or looking for some ideas. It is very limited though, and I'd never pay to use it.

Ahrefs is my tool of choice, I've used SEM Rush but not sure I trust the data. If you're looking for a content tool, SurferSEO rocks too.

I would advice starting with Ahrefs, as they also have great youtube vids explaining everything. Besides, I also use majestic a lot.

Ahrefs + Majestic = very strong combination, especially when searching for domains for your PBNs.

Currently Semrush is the best option in terms of ease of use and also provides the historical data along with the pictorial representations in a much better way compared to a lot.

I use Ubersuggest to check Keywords, but I would say that the paid version is not really worth it because I don't find it useful for much else.
