In my mind this is great news anything I can do support it please let me know.

    Good luck.

    Shaun

    The Affiliate Union

The Affiliate Union (AU) is a non profit organisation. Bound by its belief that gambling affiliates have rights to fair treatment, contractual terms void of deceit and honest ethics by gambling affiliate programs. To maintain its autonomous core values and full transparency the gambling Affiliate Union is fully self-funded. The AU does not accept sponsorship nor does it display any form of advertising. Its objectives ensure the voices of gambling affiliates will be heard and less than honourable treatment abolished.

I believe Greek is probably one of the founders! Awesome

As for signing up, the site is not ready to open until the 1st of Oct. and then I am sure they will have more announcements before then.

    Hey guys,

If you want details then please PM anyone using the Affiliate Union (AU) logo. I don't think we want to use the GPWA for adversting in this matter at this point in time without permission.

The AU will be totally separate from any current organizations.

I would like to know who the founders are before I make any decisions. If the founders don't have enough pull in this industry to get things accomplished then I am not sure how much if an effect the union will have, just being totally honest on my thoughts.

That information will be posted on the website when it opens unless the decision (by the founders) is made to do so before.

    Default Affiliate Union Statement

    Hi all,

I'm David Mikkelsen and I head the Affiliate Union (AU).

The AU is a small group of respected gambling webmasters who have joined together to form the Affiliate Union. The founding members hold a deep passion for the rights and fair treatment of affiliates in all business dealings with gambling affiliate programs.

Our fundamental objectives are to ensure the voices of gambling affiliates are heard and less than honourable treatment by industry affiliate programs are abolished.

The Affiliate Union is fully self funded and is a non profit organisation. Neither myself or its founding members draw any income or wages from the AU.

The Affiliate Union is not associated to any gambling industry entity, we hold no alliances with groups or individual industry identities. The AU does not accept sponsorship nor will it display any form of commercial advertising.

Our Charter and Operational Protocols have been established to ensure these values are maintained. In doing so our autonomous core values avoid the AU being brought into contention in matters regarding conflict of interest, money, prestige or vested interests.

All active gambling affiliates are encouraged to submit an application for AU membership. The Affiliate Union does not levy union fees on its members. We do however gratefully accept donations. These will be used to support our operational expenses.

The Affiliate Union is opening on the 1’st October 2009. We look forward to providing support and services we believe are currently lacking in the online gambling affiliate industry.

    Sincere Regards

In my eyes this is great news, as i said in my 1st or 2nd post in this thread if i can assit in anyway I am all up for transparency and ethics within an unregulated industry.

    Great work.

It would be wonderful if the industry was ready to take on ethics, but concepts like this have been proposed & acted upon before and not many were eager to support them. Good luck!

    Hi All,

I'd like to formally give notice of a small amendment to the AU brief.

On Sunday Michael Corfman contacted me regarding our use of "non profit organisation". He advised me that this maybe a legal issue if the AU was not a registered organisation.

Yesterday I sought legal council and as such we are removing the term "non profit organisation" from the AU Charter, operational protocols and anywhere else that this wording has been used.

    It is being replaced with:

"The AU founding members donate their time freely void of compensation, monetary reward or gratuity. The founders are volunteers and are servants to the Affiliate Union."

On behalf of the AU I would personally like to thank Michael for drawing my attention to this issue.
