I apologize for my rude remarks get a little heated sometimes only human. I hold no grudges nor will I be adopting the dark side. Again my apologies if I offended anyone.

But I too would like this thread close as well. The originating intent went all over the place.

I think it's a great idea. The more industry leaders who take the reigns on "accountability" roles the better.. I mixed a few "sayings" together on the last one.. I am spending too much time on front of my PC.

    Great idea guys.

Chalkie made me promise to keep the idea alive so if it's ok, we'll start anew. Thread that is.

For fear of Paulas wrath for even posting here today I do and think that this may be a good idea, a new thread with positive discussion about whether or not we should continue, about whether we still have the support that was shown now that there is just Paula and myself. A thread without any compromises and just good honest discussion about the way that we could move forward.

Chalkie is not someone who gives up!

Right Paula, i promise, no more posting until i am fully recovered from my operation today!

If a new thread on the affiliate union topic is started, and linked to from here, then I am happy to close this thread.

There might be a delay in the closure since I don't want to close this thread until after the other thread is started, and I have to leave the hotel shortly for a flight from Budapest to Copenhagen.

There is certainly no hurry Michael. Let's take some thought but meanwhile I think it's safe to close this one. Any objections?

Well now that all of the NUKES have gone off I agree that a new thread needs to be started.

I've kept my mouth shut and stayed pretty low key as to not give anyone more ammo against the GAU.

Seriously, this issue is way to important to get squashed so easily so I applaud you both Paul and Paula! Continue to look at the BIG picture, keep the faith and hang in there! Take your time as Rome was not built in a day and the same goes for the GAU.

The motto today is: Less posting and more planning.

A lot of discussion has already taken place in this thread - as such I do not think it is productive to close it and start a new one - you will just make it harder for people to get the whole picture and if we have to go back and forth between threads to figure out what is going on, we're just going to give up on the topic more easily.

If you don't want the personal slams flying around - ignore them. You know the saying about people in glass houses...

True. I think spear is right. May as well just let it all play out in one thread and start a new one if/when a new subject requires it.

Before I said I would close this thread if a new thread on the topic was started. However, let me clarify why I said that.

I will close this thread and open a new one once there is a new affiliate union plan with organization far enough along that it makes sense to start a thread for the new effort.

It is clear the old effort has fallen apart since a rift has formed between AussieDave and the other founding members. While the information I have been told indicates to me that rift will require some regrouping before anything can move forward, I remain hopeful that a new, more resilient, affiliate union will emerge from the ashes. Assuming that happens I think it will be appropriate to start a new thread for the new affiliate union initiative.

Otherwise I agree with Spearmaster that it does not make sense to just close this thread to start another one.

You can't be blamed for it spiralling out of control here because the reason that happened was due the APCW Anthony not raising his hand and admitting that he recommended GamTrak....Which was the catalyst for it to go down the toilet in the first place.

However as far as you part of at CasinoMeister, FFS your a Mod there Dave!

You commenced the thread and then when things went bad you simply walked away...

Sheesh what would call it then...???

APCW Anthony tells/recommends me to have GamTrak as a founding member. When the **** hits the fan that she's promoting (one of rogues) she not only gets set upon by the mob but everyone from the does too.

At that very point in time APCW Anthony should have have owned up and posted the facts. But no he didn't. He left us all like shag on a rock.

Nothing very honourable or integrity driven about that choice...

I was not going to stand by and watch my fellow founders be torn apart by the mob...So I posted the entire story...

However at that point instead of APCW Anthony fessing up, he PM's me and sends email instead.

Granted I've not read through the post from where I decided to leave, but I will say he did finally come over to CM and post that he was the one that recommended GamTrak as a founding member.

Although he coped a bit of flack over it, it was nothing compare to what we all coped...

Hell I'm sure most of you have seen the developments over there today.

What gets me though is that APCW Anthony was happy for us all to get throw to the wolves both here and at CM.

If it was me & I'd f#cked in this way, I'd be making damn sure that the founders were not set upon.

I'm not angry at Paul, Robin, Paula or Peter, but I most definately upset with APCW Anthony and the clique he gravitates around. Who that is you can make up your mind.

I thought I had friends here but how wrong someone can be. I've stood the fight for a lot of you who at some time had your back up against.

But when I was in need of a few friends only a handful jumped up to my aid.

Thanks guys and girls fior sitting on the fence!

Now you can delete my membership as I requested. Because frankly I'd rather be swimming in a tank of sharks than to associate myself with the GPWA.

I started the thread because it was a relevant topic to discuss in the Casino Industry Forum. As for walking away, when the thread degenerated in the early hours this morning I was safely tucked up in bed.

i've got nothing against you aussiedave, but i sit back because i've been through these discussions which turn in battles and now, by you: a feud.

Just as likely as Anthony, Michael and J Todd consipired to destroy the union and humiliate you. It's equally possible that Anthony recommended GamTrak because she's been very vocal about someone doing something more than talking. I'm also willing to believe that Michael is genuine in his approach to dealing with rogues, eventhough i feel it's too slow, shows few results and ought to be more agressive (i think, suggest, not demand he does).

Right now Dave, you've let your anger vent at dozens of GPWA members who did nothing more than read and contribute to this thread. I'd sure hate you to walk out all angry, but i can also say in no way would i support someone with such a bad temper, who has dealt with this conflict so poorly to represent me before affiliate programs. That doesn't mean your a bad man Dave or that you don't have a right to be angry about anthony not coming forward. just that you've let your anger explode into once again fragmenting the industry. That in no way helps protect affilates.

Oh, i do appreciate that you let everybody know that your former colleagues aren't the target of your anger.

Please take a bit of time off and reconsider helping to build a more effective industry organization than we've got going now, rather than creating yet another group centered around 1 man's opinions.

Dave, you are, in my opinion, completely out of line in your statements. You assume conspiracy theories when there was something completely different going on. Anthony was dealing with a very personal family situation at the time - his father-in-law had just passed away. It was simply not appropriate to go off the deep end rather than assuming there just might possibly be something else more important going on in his life at the time.

In terms of why Anthony recommended Gamtrack, I'm sure that is because he knows she is willing to devote time and energy to working on issues affiliates care about. Personally, I would recommend Gamtrack on that basis myself and I think lots of other folks here would as well. Now I agree there was an issue with some properties she was promoting, but that was not, in my opinion, anything even remotely resembling an insurmountable issue. I view it was a tempest in a teapot.

There was strong support for the affiliate union from many quarters. A leader who believes in a mission they have set out to accomplish like creating an affiliate union has one basic job requirement, and that is the ability to withstand storms and rally support in the face of controversy. Instead, in the face of controversy, I view that you reacted by blaming others, showing a complete lack of support to the founders who were supporting you by shutting everything down without even considering their opinion in the matter, and then completely cutting yourself off from communication with them.

But let me also be clear and say that I do by and large respect you Dave, and you do have many good qualities. You are passionate about many things that are worth being passionate about, and I am confident I speak for the vast majority here in saying that passion is appreciated by folks here and elsewhere. Please do not make the mistake of confusing the fact that I view that your talents did not make you a suitable leader for an organization like the affiliate union that, by its very nature, will have to deal with controversy and conflict with the fact that we do appreciate and welcome your contributions in the many areas you have contributed to over time and that play to your strengths.

I'm sure I speak for just about everyone here in saying that we appreciated what you were trying to accomplish. Personally, I'm hoping the dream you had will be carried forward by others who share it and that you will be an active participant in the process.

In terms of deleting your membership, any decision on your part about whether or not to participate here is, of course, your own decision. However, my intention is to keep the welcome mat out, and the door open. You are welcome and appreciated here.
